Short Bio

A lifelong Washington Metro artist. I work in oil, acrylic, mixed media and photography

Statement

I consider my art career to be one engaged in making historical portraits, and, abstract art. Since 2013, I have been oil painting.  I have been exploring new mediums such as acrylic painting.  I also enjoy making photography.  Recently I was given my first commission by my former store manager to make the hand of my other former manager.  It had six fingers on the right hand, I called it my Princess Bride piece.

I draw from many influences.  A big part of who I am is a student of American History, Presidents, and general history. This means I get pulled into the direction of art as current events, photojournalism.  A lot of my art started out as portraits of my favorite historical figures.  I use lots of paint.  Right now, I am learning acrylic pouring in addition to oil painting.
